Featured Partner of the Week
Welcome to another Featured Artist of the Week, a series highlighting remarkable artists creating Ordinals through the Gamma Partner Program! Today, meet Milana Juventa, a prize-winning multidisciplinary artist who has been featured at the Louvre twice.
Milana has participated in Metaverse exhibitions and at NFTNYC on Times Square billboards, where she described the experience as “nothing short of pure enchantment.” Milana noted that the work she has put on BTC so far have been artworks she created around the same as the time as the inception of Bitcoin.
In a recent interview with Milana, she opened up about her artistic journey, inspirations, and the evolution of her craft in the blockchain era. Read the entire interview on our blog:
Graffiti & Ordinals
by Eliherf
Stop putting graffiti on my money you pompous vandals!
Graffiti, often dismissed as mere vandalism, is an art form with a rich history that has transformed public spaces all over the globe. From ancient inscriptions to modern masterpieces, graffiti allows for self-expression, political commentary, and the beautification of urban landscapes through muralism.
Graffiti is often characterized by its rebellious, street-level origins and unauthorized creation, typically featuring "tags" and vibrant, abstract imagery. Whereas similarly, though still starkly different at its core, muralism is usually a sanctioned form of public art that may be large-scale, detailed works on buildings and structures, often with social, political, or cultural themes.
Generative June coming soon…
Generative art is the process of creating visually appealing still, animated, and dynamic visual outputs through code. Dating back to the 60s, when it was noted as emergent computer art, generative art has evolved to the point where you can now inscribe code directly onto Bitcoin and produce dazzling outputs using all the variability in the available data, such as block height, inscription ID, satribute, and more.
Over the months of June and July, we will be spotlighting some generative art drops by Bitcoin-native code artists and beyond. Keep an eye out for open editions and limited mints as these artists explore the possibilities of long-form generative art on Gamma!
Thanks for tuning in, we’ll see you next week!
