The Originals Auctions
We know you all love Prints, but did you know that every Print is made from an Original inscription?
Starting this week, we're working with Partner Artists to launch a series of Original Auctions. Let's explore our auction process:
So, how do Gamma auctions work? Gamma pioneered trustless auctions on Bitcoin, with Dutch auctions for Bitcoin Magazine's Historic Covers. Since then, we rebuilt auctions for ease and excitement. Now, you're welcomed with a familiar "Place bid" β no setup or deposits required.
As each new bid is placed, you'll see the bidding history stack up. But place your bids quickly, as each new bid not only increases the auction price β it also shortens the time left in the auction!
While there are a few mechanics at play, we think it makes for a more exciting auction β one where you're incentivized to act quickly! At the end of the day, you just need to think about one thing: how high will you go?
Explore the Originals collection below and come back every week to bid on newly live auctions:

Partner of the Week
Welcome to another Featured Artist of the Week, a series highlighting remarkable artists creating Ordinals through the Gamma Partner Program! Today we meet Mag, a street photographer & artist from Japan searching for beauty in daily life through simplicity.
Mag appreciates that itβs not easy to find beauty in the ordinary, but he tries to capture the beauty in normal moments. As a self-taught artist, heβs studied photo books, YouTube tutorials, and learned from great photographers past and present.
For his debut launch on Bitcoin, Mag launched his print called Mount Fuji from Tokyo. This is a special shot, as one cannot often see Mount Fuji from Tokyo; Mag shot it on the morning he was at a Web3 conference in Shibuya.
Mag believes releasing ordinals is like capturing a moment and preserving it on the blockchain. It's a way to ensure that a moment won't fade away. Ordinals create a strong link between the audience and photography, and that's why heβs directed his pure photography towards them.
In a recent conversation with Mag, he discussed his passion for learning, how Japanese culture shapes him, and his delight at bringing photography to Bitcoin. You can listen to our entire conversation in the following interview:
Keep an eye on all Mag drops with us on Gamma, like the Print featured below based on photography with elements of generative art. Follow along as he explores motion and effects in his photography, making artistic connections to Bitcoin in the process.
Finally, don't forget to follow Mag on X who uses traditional and modern Japanese art to inspire his photography. As we continue to spotlight the vibrant talent within our community, we invite you to explore and celebrate new creators on Gamma. Stay tuned for more!

Bitcoin Ordinals Take Center Stage With Nolcha Shows, Miami Art Week
Ordinals and inscriptions are not just new terms for NFTs. Rather, they represent a fundamental shift towards a more permanent digital asset, well suited for art and culturally significant artifacts. βββWhile Ethereum's network may persist, the safety of NFT metadata is less certain, as most Ethereum NFT metadata relies on decentralized file networks like IPFS to store NFT metadata that represent the token.β explained Nick Sainato, co-founder of Gamma.io. βThese file storage networks often lack sufficient decentralization and file redundancy at inceptionβ¦ It's not uncommon for NFT metadata, even from recent collections, to become inaccessible or intentionally altered, leaving the token holder with proof of ownership but no underlying data.β
Thanks for tuning in, weβll see you next week!
