Cosmic Cat, Michael Hafftka 🐈⬛
Hafftka describes the creation of Cosmic Cat as an intuitive process where “one thing leads to another.” The cat emerges amid a burst of vivid colors—pinks, purples, blues, and fiery oranges—set against a starry backdrop. Inspired by The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, the piece mirrors the book’s whimsical tone, channeling cosmic energy through an abstract feline lens. A Craiyon prompt echoing the idea of cats drifting among stars parallels the artwork’s surreal charm.
Embracing the idea of a cat’s nine lives, hafftka re-inscribed the 1/1 Cosmic Cat nine times, each version depicting a unique chapter in its cosmic journey:
Second Life: Bathed in solar flare light, the cat glows with fiery energy in vibrant oranges and yellows.
Third Life: Confronts chaotic cosmic forces, embodying the unpredictability of the universe.
Fourth Life: Encounters other cosmic beings—abstract, cat-like entities that suggest an interstellar community.
Fifth Life: Searches for Arthur Dent, Hitchhiker’s protagonist, following Earth’s destruction and deepening the galactic narrative.
Sixth Life: Introduces a quantum twist with a duplicate cat—an homage to Schrödinger’s thought experiment.
Seventh Life: Experiences hallucinations in the void, its form fracturing into erratic, psychedelic patterns.
Eighth Life: Meets Schrödinger’s Cat, raising existential questions through overlapping forms and energy trails.
Ninth Life: Disintegrates into the ether—yet hints at renewal: “each cat can have nine lives, and so we start all over again.”
Cosmic Cat fuses art, science, and philosophy. Drawing from The Hitchhiker’s Guide and Schrödinger’s Cat, hafftka explores reality, observation, and existence. With the limited prints release of the first life sold out, find the 1/1, which comes with 9 reinscriptions available in his Cosmic Cat collection for sale here.

RAGE FREAKS: A PIXEL ART COLLECTION by LORS 🔥
LORS brings pixel art memes to Bitcoin Ordinals with RAGE FREAKS, a nostalgic nod to the 2008s rage comics era that helped define early internet culture. Reimagined through the lens of web3, this collection is a thank-you to the people who’ve supported his artistic journey. “I wanted to give the power of curation back to the people who've believed in my work,” says LORS. “The success of this collection becomes everyone's interest, not just mine.”
Rather than chasing hype or raffles, LORS took a collector-first approach to distribution. Mint spots were transparently assigned based on previous support across his projects, with allocations varying by pieces held. Through a custom platform, collectors can view and manage their spots—or pass them along—ensuring a community-driven process. RAGE FREAKS is also a many months-long creative deep dive into pixel art, combining the raw, imperfect charm of early internet memes with LORS’ experimental, expressive style. “It’s been liberating to work freely without constraints.”
